SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — Georgia’s continuing revival has reached a youth retreated hosted by the Council of Korean Southern Baptist Churches of Georgia where 15 students made salvation decisions in late May.

More than 120 people from 14 Korean Baptist churches attended the retreat on May 29-30.

“It was like Mark’s upper room where 120 disciples were fervently praying for the promised Holy Spirit to fall upon them,” Hahn said.

The Council of Korean Southern Baptist Churches of Georgia said the youth retreat typically averages about 45 students but this year more than doubled.

Steven Chae, a senior at Johns Creek High School, said he enjoyed meeting new people from other churches and praying for one another.

Houston County High School junior Layton Nguyen said the retreat was fun.

“The worship experience was genuinely emotionally connecting to God,” he said.

“I had the best time ever,” said Veronica Lee, a senior at Seckinger High School. “I was able to deepen my relationship with God. Not only was the praise team amazing, but I could really feel the presence of God through worship. I was truly able to reignite a fire within my heart for Jesus.”

North Gwinnett High School sophomore Jaden Yeo called the retreat amazing.

“Each and every worship session and sermon were so well intertwined with each other and was so powerful,” Yeo said. “A significant amount of kids accepted their relationship with God and devoted their lives to Him during this short time. I’d recommend this camp to anyone looking to strengthen their relationship with God.”

The Council of Korean Southern Baptist Churches of Georgia joined with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board and Korean Baptist churches to fund the retreat this year.
