MARTINEZ, Ga.  – Abilene Baptist Church, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Brad Whitt, is proud to announce a significant contribution of $10,000 to the Columbia County School District. The church's donation will be presented to Dr. Steven Flynt, Superintendent of Schools for the Columbia County School District, in a special ceremony on Friday at 9:15 a.m.. The event will take place at the Columbia County Board of Education, located at 4781 Hereford Farm Road, Evans,  Ga.

The generous gift from Abilene Baptist Church is aimed at alleviating lunch debts incurred by students throughout the Columbia County school system. In an effort to support students and families who may be facing financial hardship, this donation will help eliminate lunch account debts, ensuring that all students have access to nutritious meals without any barriers.

In the Columbia County School District, students with more than $14.25 of lunch account debt have been receiving a meal consisting of a grilled cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Abilene Baptist Church's contribution seeks to ensure that every student receives a well-balanced meal.

Dr. Brad Whitt, Senior Pastor of Abilene Baptist Church, expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, saying, "Our church has always been committed to serving the community and making a positive impact in the lives of those we can reach. We hope that our contribution will not only clear these debts but also raise awareness about the importance of ensuring every child's access to nutritious meals."

Members of the media and the public are invited to attend this momentous event on Friday, September 15, at 9:15 AM at the Columbia County Board of Education. The presentation of the $10,000 check by Dr. Brad Whitt of Abilene Baptist Church to Dr. Steven Flynt will be a heartwarming testament to the power of community compassion and support for our youth.
