MOUNT VERNON, Ga. — Brewton-Parker College is excited to announce that it has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Meadows New Foundation to provide scholarships for nursing students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. This funding will directly support aspiring nurses from Toombs, Montgomery, and Wheeler counties, addressing a critical healthcare shortage in rural Georgia.

The Meadows New Foundation’s mission to improve health equity and access to care aligns closely with BPC’s dedication to equipping nursing students with the skills and compassion needed to serve rural communities. The grant will provide vital financial assistance to aspiring nurses, particularly those from underserved populations, enabling them to pursue their education and future careers in healthcare.

"The support of the Meadows New Foundation is an extraordinary blessing to our nursing students and the communities they will serve,” said Dr. Steven Echols, President of Brewton-Parker College. “This grant aligns with our mission to empower students to make a difference in healthcare, especially in areas where it is needed most.”

The BSN program at BPC is recognized for its excellence, with the inaugural class achieving a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Through this grant, students from underserved populations will have greater access to a Christ-centered nursing education, allowing them to overcome financial barriers and focus on becoming compassionate, competent healthcare providers.
