MOUNT VERNON, Ga. — Brewton-Parker College track and field coach Stephen Roberts gets ready to start his second season with the Barons after watching his son Daniel Roberts win silver in the 2024 Paris Olympics for the 110-meter hurdles.

The Barons wish to congratulate and support Daniel and Coach Roberts in Paris. Daniel Roberts now adds this silver medal to his list of accomplishments, including two national championships, three-time World Championship participation, and bronze in the 110m hurdles in 2023.

Coach Roberts shared his thoughts on Daniels's accomplishments, "Daniel is a two-time Olympian, but this one was sweeter because my wife and I were blessed with the opportunity to be in Paris as he fulfilled his Olympic dream and become a silver medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Tokyo Olympic Games was a little bittersweet for a few reasons, but we are so grateful to have been able to witness history in the making. God has been so faithful to us, and we are grateful for the stage He has set before our son. We will continue to give God all the praise as we celebrate this fantastic lifelong dream."

Coach Roberts gets ready to begin the 2024-25 season, hoping to bring some of that championship pedigree back to Mount Vernon. The Barons look to improve their performance from last year and hope to see significant improvements. Last year, Coach Roberts and the staff produced two NAIA Outdoor National Qualifiers, four SSAC Champions, and 20 All-SSAC selections. The Barons are eager to see what this year can bring.
