ANAHEIM, Calif. –- The Fellowship of Baptists World Ministries (FBWM) has announced that their breakfast (described as a hearty one) at the Southern Baptist Convention will be in the California Ballroom of the Anaheim Hilton Hotel on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 8:00 to 10:00 A.M.

The first 150 persons to register for the FBWM breakfast will be able to eat without cost because of a generous gift provided by the North American Mission Board. Reservations are required to attend. Please register for the breakfast here: https://www.fbwministries.org

Dr. Phil Roberts, who is the Director of International Theological Education for the Ministry Outreach Foundation and former President of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Vice President of the strategic cities group for the North American Mission Board, is the new President of the Fellowship of Baptist World Ministries and is breathing revitalization and energy into this significant missions ministry.

Roberts recently announced that Dr. Anthony George, pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta, GA, has been elected to be the pastor/advisor for the Fellowship of Baptist World Ministries.

An inspiring program has been planned for the breakfast in Anaheim. The speakers for the event are Charles Clark with the International Mission Board, Johnny Hunt with the North American Mission Board, and Efraim Tendero, a native of the Philippines and ambassador of the World Evangelical Alliance.

The stated purpose of the FBWM is “to work together as network of creative ministries strategically assisting Southern Baptists in reaching the nations for Jesus Christ.”

The FBWM was founded in 1985 when several Southern Baptist mission organizations formed a fellowship to encourage one another. The Fellowship now includes 15 organizations all of whom have embraced the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and are cooperating to fulfill the Great Commission in underserved countries around the world. This organization has received the blessings of the International Mission Board and is on the list of recognized meetings during the SBC annual session.

The Fellowship of Baptist World Ministries is experiencing a revitalization under the leadership of Dr. Roberts, who has a great vision for how the organization can have a global impact for the cause of Christ. He is seeking new members and the breakfast will highlight ways for pastors, churches, and mission groups to partner with international Baptist entities to share the Gospel and plant churches.

“The Fellowship of Baptist World Ministries,” exclaimed Roberts, “is the premier organization for SBC related mission elements to band together for the cause of world evangelization. It offers fellowship, coordination and collaboration with other like-minded ministries as well as connectedness with our IMB.”

Roberts continued, “We welcome new members and look forward to serving our Lord Jesus Christ together! Please accept my personal invitation to be our guest at the June 13 fellowship breakfast in Anaheim, California.”

Roberts will also highlight the plans for the FBWM Annual meeting in Nassau, Bahamas January 14-17, 2023, which will involve missions and evangelistic rallies, equipping churches for missions involvement and providing pastors the opportunity to preach in some of the Bahama Baptist churches.

This strategic missions organization is seeking to enlarge its membership and those interesting in becoming a part of The Fellowship of Baptists World Ministries, including world missions organizations, evangelistic associations, churches, associations, Baptist state conventions, Baptist seminaries and elected lay leaders who are in good standing in local Southern Baptist Churches may go to the FBWM website (https://www.fbwministries.org) and complete the application for membership.
