RICHMOND HILL, Ga. – First Baptist Church Richmond Hill was among 622 congregations in 46 countries that threw Night to Shine prom parties for more than 75,000 people with special needs on Friday.

Described as an unforgettable prom night experience for people 14 years old and up, Night to Shine is organized by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

"Since this event began in 2015, we have watched Night to Shine grow into a worldwide movement,” Tebow said. “Even though it is held in countries that speak different languages and celebrate in ways unique to their own diverse cultures, God's love transcends it all.”

Tebow calls Night to Shine “a night when queens and kings will be celebrated and know their worth, value, and significance through the love of Christ.”

The Tim Tebow Foundation provides support to the hundreds of churches hosting the event in the form of financial grants, prom kits, an official manual and planning resources, and help in planning the events locally.

“I love all the ministry we do at the foundation, but Night to Shine holds a special place in my heart,” he said.

For the past two years, the events had been held virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year they returned to in-person status.

“On this special night, every host church and every volunteer in those 46 countries said 'yes' to a night where we could come together and celebrate the love of Jesus for all His children,” Tebow said. “As we look forward to Night to Shine 2024, we hope that even more churches will answer the call and that more countries will join us in this worldwide movement to honor and value people with disabilities. Together, we will continue to pursue the mission He has set before us, and, by His grace, continue to reach more and more people around the world with faith, hope and love.”
