DULUTH — First Baptist Church in Woodstock led all other Georgia Baptist Convention churches in Cooperative Program giving for 2017.
The report came during the Georgia Baptist Convention Executive Committee meeting March 13 at the Baptist Missions and Ministry Center. Numbers were compiled and presented through Georgia Baptist Mission Board Financial Services.
"There is no better way to touch so many places and so many people as with the Cooperative Program," remarked Pastor Johnny Hunt. "Just think – train seminary students, help with disaster relief here and around the world, train church planters, plant churches in underserved areas of America, and last but not least, send missionaries to the nations of the world. I'm in!"
Woodstock gave $866,982.96 to the Cooperative Program in 2017, followed by First Baptist Atlanta ($500,000) and First Baptist Jonesboro ($430,705.25). Hebron Baptist, Dacula ($419,328) and Ingleside Baptist, Macon ($402,998.67) rounded out the top 5 of 200 churches presented in the list.
