FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Flat Creek Baptist Church is inviting women to participate in a special community outreach event on Aug. 27. Morning of Missions will include breakfast, guest speaker Georgia WMU President Lauren Sullens, and an opportunity to participate in one of the three mission activities offered.

Attendees can stay on-site and participate in mission fair activities, where representatives from local mission organizations will be available to share information about what they do and how women can be involved. Local ministries include: Bloom, Calvary Refuge Center, English as a Second Language, Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center, Fayette Samaritans, Forgiving Forward, 4 Heroes, Georgia Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services, Midwest Food Bank, Spark Ministries, among others.

Midwest Food Bank will serve neighbors in need by repackaging food items in preparation for distribution to families experiencing food insecurity.

Church in the Park (on campus) will partner with the Hispanic Ministry at Flat Creek to reach out to local residents with crafts and children’s book distribution to support Read Georgia efforts.

Upon registration, participants will receive an email with further details and instructions.  For people wanting to volunteer at the Midwest Food Bank, register with the link provided for Midwest because space is limited.  Transportation will be provided to Midwest. All mission opportunities will conclude at 12:30 PM.

The church is asking participants to bring a donation of a new or gently used children's book to assist with local READ GEORGIA initiatives.
