SILVER CREEK, Ga. — Earlier this month, Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church announced the calling of Brady Wood as its new Senior Pastor, following a season of prayerful searching and discernment and a unanimous vote of agreement by its members. Pastor Wood will officially start on October 26, 2025, becoming the church’s third senior pastor in the last 53 years.

Pastor Brady Wood said, “My family and I are beyond thankful for God’s call to join the Pleasant Valley South family. God made it crystal clear and confirmed His call in ways that can only be explained as a work of God. We have already experienced the remarkable love of this church. We are excited to move to Georgia and join the work of serving Christ with the people of Pleasant Valley South.”

Chairman of the Pastor Search Committee, Kevin Payne said, “On behalf of the entire search committee, we are incredibly excited about the future of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church under the leadership of Brady Wood. Our months of work, prayer, and conversation have culminated in a shared sense of excitement for the path God is laying before us. We look forward to seeing Brady’s ministry unfold. We are so thankful for how God has blessed our church and for the great plans He has for our future. We give all honor and glory to Jesus Christ.”

In his previous role as Pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hixson, Tennessee, Brady Wood faithfully served as pastor for over a decade. During this time, the church experienced significant multigenerational growth, successfully executed multiple capital campaigns and campus expansions, and implemented community outreach and missions initiatives.

Pastor Wood and his wife, Chelsea, have been married for 14 years, and have three kids together. He holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University.
