Georgia Baptist Education Commission names scholarship winners

DULUTH, Ga. – A group of Georgia’s top scholars have been awarded scholarships by the Georgia Baptist Education Commission.

The Student Achievement Awards go to a select group of incoming freshmen who will be attending either Brewton-Parker College, Shorter University or Truett McConnell University.

The recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, college entrance exam scores, church and community involvement, and recommendations from their Georgia Baptist pastors.

This year’s winners are:

Gwyn Kaylee Andrews of Bonaire, a graduate of Central Fellowship Christian Academy in Macon and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Warner Robbins. She plans to attend Truett McConnell University.

Jacob Brian Moore of Forsyth, a graduate of Covenant Academic in Macon and a member of New Providence Baptist Church in Forsyth. He plans to attend Shorter University.

Kiley Branam of Chatsworth, a graduate of Christian Heritage High School in Dalton and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Chatsworth. She plans to attend Shorter University.

Olivia Young of Menlo, a graduate of Chattooga High School in Summerville and a member of Menlo First Baptist Church in Menlo. She plans to attend Shorter University.

Presley Madden of Thomson, a graduate of Evans High School in Evans and a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church in Thomson. She plans to attend Truett McConnell University.

Rachel LeeAnn Frantz of Garden City, a graduate of Frantz Homeschool in Garden City and a member of First Baptist Church of Garden City. She plans to attend Truett McConnell University.

Rebekah Scott of Grayson, a graduate of Grayson High School in Loganville and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Snellville. She plans to attend Truett McConnell University.

Riley Starling of Silver Creek, a graduate of Pepperell High School in Lindale and a member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church in Silver Creek. She plans to attend Shorter University.
