Georgia Korean Theological Institute celebrates May graduates

NEW ORLEANS — A number of students graduated from the Georgia Korean Theological Institute of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Extension Center during commencement ceremonies at Cross Pointe Church in Duluth on May 7, 2026, and at the NOBTS  in New Orleans on May 15, 2026.

Graduates earned Master of Divinity or Bachelor of Arts degrees through the seminary’s extension program, which serves students in metro Atlanta. The graduates were Heeyoung Kim, Master of Divinity Student; Miisun Porter, Bachelor of Arts Student; Young Mae Choi, Master of Divinity Student.

Dr. Temitayo C. Olusanya, who works with Enriched Hope Ministries in McDonough, Georgia, and Dr. Abioye Olasunkanmi Tela, Pastor of Education at First Baptist Conyers, earned PhDs.

In addition to its graduate programs, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary offers undergraduate study through Leavell College, which provides associate and bachelor’s degrees, along with Leadership Certificates. The seminary’s Online Leadership Certificates program, directed by Dr. Robert Wilson and based at the Cross Pointe Baptist Church campus in Duluth, Georgia, allows students to earn accredited collegiate units that are transferable to associate or bachelor’s degree programs.

Wong Hee Sung, Sookhee Nah, Young Sook Han, Insoon Park, Young Cho, Jung Mi Choi, Young Sook Kim, Syani Lee, Justina Hong, and Wesley Hong completed a two-year program in Church Leadership, and each received a Certificate in Biblical Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The program is housed at the Cross Pointe Church in Duluth.
