ATLANTA — Georgia Right to Life announced earlier this month that the 2025 True to Life Oratory Contest winner is Rebecca Miller. This year’s Oratory Contest, held recently in Atlanta, strives to promote the ability of high school juniors and seniors to share their pro-life views by researching, developing, and delivering a speech about abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide, stem cell research, or emerging technology. Rebecca Miller, whose winning speech was entitled, What Are We Missing?, lives in Atlanta, is a homeschooler and enjoys her role as a swim coach. She is an award-winning member of American Heritage Girls Troop.
“Georgia Right to Life is honored to host this contest each year to shine a spotlight on the sanctity of life through the eyes of a student,” said Ricardo Davis, president of Georgia Right to Life. “We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for high school students who have an interest in sharing their pro-life views and appreciate their genuine interest in the contest. We congratulate Rebecca Miller for this outstanding achievement.”
The second-place winner is Brianna Meadors of Hall County, for her speech entitled, They Still Choose Life. She attends Lanier Christian Academy and volunteers at a local pet shelter.
The annual Student Oratory Contest is open to high school juniors and seniors. All contestants must use relevant, factual information, craft a speech 5-8 minutes in length, and in oration style. Students who advance from the local to the state level have a chance to win prizes including a first-place and second-place cash prize, along with a trophy, speaking opportunities, and a publicity plan.
“We salute students like Rebecca and Brianna who recognize how precious life is and endeavor to publicly acknowledge its sanctity,” said Davis. “This Oratory Contest is a great way for Rebecca, Brianna, and other contestants to build speech development and presentation skills, shine a spotlight on life, and earn money for college, said Davis. “Each year, we have an opportunity to come together to celebrate life through this Oratory Contest. We are grateful to have such fine contestants join us.”
