Georgia Baptists are looking forward to having Dr. Gregory Love back in Georgia for two very timely, free workshops on protecting children in our churches from sexual abuse. Because of the pandemic, it has now been at least two years since Love has been here in person.
The first workshop will be from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2021, at the Georgia Baptist Mission Board in Duluth. This workshop will also be livestreamed.
The second workshop will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Perry.
Registration is required, and lunch will be provided. Also, all who register for either workshop will have an extended capability to view a video recording of the teaching for at least three months. Here is the online registration link: https://gabaptist.org/childprotectionworkshop.
The focus of the workshops will be on the new challenges related to child sexual abuse in ministry. It is important that churches understand the new insurance requirements, legislative changes and how predators have adapted through online contact with children.
The events will provide an overview of steps to deal with the ‘old’ challenges while at the same time correctly navigating the ‘new’ challenges. As always, the wellbeing and safety of children is vital to every home and church!
