CLEVELAND, Ga. — On Saturday, Oct. 11, the No. 13 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hosted the No. 4 University of the Cumberlands in a non-conference match-up where the Lady Bears secured a 3–0 shutout victory over the Patriots, extending their win streak to nine. TMU extends their overall record to 11-0-1, while remaining perfect in AAC play (8-0).
The Lady Bears wasted no time setting the tone of the match as Annabel Trauschke added TMU's first goal in the 3rd minute off a clean assist from Isabella Hodson (1-0). TMU's defense held firm throughout the first half, limiting UC's opportunities and keeping the visitors off the board. In the second half, the Lady Bears offense struck again when Abby Sheriff found the back of the net in the 75th minute on a setup from Trauschke, extending the lead to 2–0. Just minutes later, Saige Peterson sealed the victory with a penalty kick in the 79th minute, securing TMU's seventh shutout of the season.
Trauschke led the way for TMU, recording one goal and one assist. Sheriff and Peterson followed with one goal apiece, while Hodson had one assist. Goalkeeper Danica Wittmann earned a clean sheet, her seventh of the season.
