Obituary: Billy Clifford Brinson, Sr., dies at 66

Rev. Billy Clifford Brinson, Sr. age 66 of Swainsboro died at his home on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Born in 1958 to the late Billy Brinson and Maurine Brinson McDaniel. Billy was a lifelong resident of Swainsboro he was a 1976 graduate of Swainsboro High School. Billy was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and later went on to pastor Hines Baptist Church. He was a member of the Georgia Baptist Association serving on the executive board. He also served as Director of Missions for the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Association. He also worked at Tomlinson Funeral Home for many years. Billy was a hard worker, always providing for his family. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his children and grandchildren. He loved preaching and had 24 churches that became family. Billy’s greatest legacy will remain his children and grandchildren who he loved dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Ryker Brinson. 

Billy is survived by: 

His wife of 47 years. Carolyn Amerson Brinson

Daughters: Mandy Lively (Billy) and Brook Clements (Josh). 

Son: Billy Brinson, Jr. (Mandi)

Grandchildren: Maci Mitchell (Rick), Lenox Lively, Sydney Lively, Amelia Grace Clements, Drake Clements, Dawson Clements, Gavrielle Clements, Bentley Brinson, Blakely Brinson, Finley Brinson, and Granger Brinson. 

Mother-in-law: Lucy Amerson

Brother: Jeff Brinson (Brenda)

Sister: Juanita Brown (Keith)

Many extended family members and friends. 

Funeral Services will be Monday, July 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Stitch and Rev. Louis Pearce officiating.          

Interment will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum. 

Pallbearers are Noah Way, Brandon Brown, Greg Denison, Allen Amerson, Drone Hudson, George Archer, Ben Robinson. 

Honorary Pallbearers are Pastors of the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Association, members of the Boggy Possum Hunting Club, Johnny Thigpen, and Jimmy Hiers.
