For 54 years, Mike shared a life of love and devotion with his wife, Janice. For 51 of those years, he faithfully served in ministry, living out the purpose that meant so much to him: sharing the amazing Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving others.

Mike was a loving, caring, supportive, giving, fun-loving, kind, and gentle man with a true servant’s heart. He was a devoted husband and the most loving and supportive father. He loved people deeply and was happiest when he was surrounded by family, friends, and those he had the opportunity to serve. Mike was always laughing, cutting up, and being goofy, and his joyful spirit brought happiness to those around him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a genuine ability to make people feel loved, valued, and cared for.

Mike’s purpose in life was to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved to serve, mentor, teach, and preach. Throughout his 51 years in ministry, he had the great honor and opportunity to pastor churches in several states. His love for ministry was not simply a vocation—it was his calling and a central part of who he was.

Mike was a lifelong student of learning and had an extensive library that included thousands of books and resources. He had an incredible love for learning and continually sought to grow in his understanding and knowledge. In addition to graduating from Manual High School and the University of Louisville, he earned a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and a Doctor of Ministry from Temple Baptist Seminary in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Mike loved spending time with, supporting, and caring for his family and friends. His greatest joy was loving and serving the people around him. He will be remembered for his wisdom, generosity, kindness, laughter, gentle spirit, intelligence, and unwavering desire to help others.
