Photo gallery: Mission Georgia showcased at Braves game

ATLANTA – The work of Mission Georgia was showcased during the Atlanta Braves’ annual Faith and Family Day observed during their game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.

Students from the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Georgia State University along with staff members from the Georgia Baptist Mission Board attended Faith and Family Day to promote
Mission Georgia, an initiative that helps place orphaned children in foster and adoptive families, helps fund prenatal care and counseling for mothers-to-be, helps international refugees in Georgia find homes, get jobs, learn English and come to know Jesus, and provides intensive educational help to schools to ensure that all children can read by third grade.

The Braves’ Faith and Family Day coincided with the Mission Georgia emphasis in September, a month set aside for churches to give special offerings to fund the initiative.
