NEW ORLEANS – Pre-registration is now open for churches to pre-register messengers for this year’s Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting, set for June 11-14 in New Orleans.

Pre-registration for childcare is also open.

The annual meeting will be in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, which will also be where the Pastors’ Conference will be held on June 11-12.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic slowed, the SBC has seen attendance at annual meetings soar.  Total attendance at the 2021 annual meeting exceeded 21,000. That was the highest attendance in 25 years.

Last year’s meeting in Anaheim drew more than 10,000 people, including 8,133 messengers and 2,856 guests.

The 2023 meeting was originally set to be held in Charlotte, N.C., but Executive Committee members voted in April 28 to move the meeting to New Orleans due to the growth in attendance of recent gatherings.

Messengers and guests can pre-register on the SBC website.
