Shorter Hawks' three-point shooting topples Trevecca Nazarene 73-64

ROME, GA. – The Shorter University Hawks took down the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene 73-64 in their home opener Tuesday night at Winthrop-King Centre.

The Hawks scored 36 points in the first half to take a 12-point lead going into the second half.

Trevecca Nazarene made a run in the second half, scoring 40 points. But Shorter, led by Grant Atchley with 18 points and Raphael Houssou with 17 points, held on to win by 9.

The Hawks shot 54.3% from the field and 50% from behind the three-point line, both season highs for the team.

Shorter will be on the road this weekend to take on West Florida and Valdosta State in Gulf State Conference.
