Shorter University recognizes 2024 graduates

ROME, Ga. — Last week, Shorter University hosted its 2024 Commencement events. This included the nursing pinning ceremony, the Master's hooding ceremony, and two Commencement ceremonies.

During the nurse pinning ceremony, students completing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees were presented with cords and nursing pins.

The Master's hooding ceremony recognized those graduating with master's degrees. Dr. Heath Hooper, Dean of Shorter's College of Business, and Dr. Dana King, Dean of Shorter's School of Education, hooded their candidates. Mrs. LaDonna Collins was featured as the guest speaker.

Additionally, Shorter University hosted the 2024 Commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 2. The ceremonies were held in Shorter's Winthrop-King Centre. Dr. Steve Parr, a Shorter alumnus, was the guest speaker, and Dr. Don Dowless, Shorter University president, presented the graduates with their degrees.
