Strong lineup of preachers enlisted for Georgia Baptist Evangelism Conference

Posted

Over the years, one of the main features of the Georgia Baptist Evangelism Conference has been the preaching from communicators with hot hearts for the gospel, and that will not change in 2022.

The objective of the conference is to encourage and equip churches in evangelism, and the preaching is designed to address the encouragement component, and everyone needs encouragement. The Apostle Paul understood this, so while Timothy was serving in a hard place in Ephesus, he encouraged Timothy with these words: “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands(2 Timothy 1:6).

The NIV translates it this way: “Fan into flame the gift of God,” which describes the act of rekindling the embers of a dying fire. To be clear, this metaphor of the rekindling of a dying flame does not imply that Timothy’s faith was dying out, but it does insinuate that he must “fan into flame” or make full use of the special gift that he had received from God.

It is our prayer that the preaching at the 2022 Georgia Baptist Evangelism Conference will encourage pastors, leaders, & congregants alike to fan into flame or make full use of the special gift they received from God for the advancement of His gospel.
