Truett McConnell University expands leadership and faculty at the Walpot School of Education

CLEVELAND, Ga. — Truett McConnell University proudly announces significant enhancements to its Walpot School of Education, introducing Mrs. Taylor Gilleland as the new Chair alongside esteemed educators Mrs. Staci Ward, Mrs. Susan Sargent, and the continued support of Dr. Julie Lutz.

Mrs. Taylor Gilleland assumes the role of Chair with a profound dedication to TMU's mission, committed to fostering the school's growth and maintaining its commitment to delivering a high-quality, biblically centered education. Mrs. Gilleland's vision focuses on equipping future educators to integrate faith into educational settings, thereby fulfilling the great commission.

Mrs. Staci Ward joins TMU as a lecturer, bringing 30 years of invaluable experience from her tenure as a teacher and principal in the White County School system. Mrs. Ward is enthusiastic about the opportunity to mentor future teachers at TMU.

Mrs. Susan Sargent, recently retired after over three decades in the classroom, enriches the faculty with her extensive knowledge. "I am excited about the opportunity to impart my knowledge and experience to the next generation of educators," Mrs. Sargent states.

Dr. Julie Lutz continues her tenure as a lecturer, having played a pivotal role in advancing TMU's education program over the past decade. Her leadership was instrumental in tripling the size of the education program during her tenure as Chair of the Walpot School of Education.
