New voter guides: Georgia Senate runoffs

Posted

As we did in October, we are going to be providing Georgia Baptists with voter guides. These new guides are intended to help you choose the candidates you will vote for in the January 5 Senate Runoff.

It is important once again that you know as much as possible on the candidate’s positions on issues before you vote. The guide includes topics like abortion on demand, increased taxpayer funding of abortion, border security, school choice, Supreme Court justices, defunding of Planned Parenthood, and child tax credits. These are just a few of the issues that will be in the forefront of debates during the Georgia Senate runoff.

Beginning December 14, Faith and Freedom Coalition will be hand delivering church voter guides to your church. The Faith and Freedom Coalition (FFC) worked independently to gather the candidate’s views on topics important to Georgia Baptists and Christians overall related to the runoff.

Once again, I would like to ask you, as your Public Affairs representative, to consider making these voter guides available to your congregation once you receive them. I am not asking you to identify or endorse any candidate. Ask your congregation to pray over the moral issues of our time and choose which candidates may best represent your Christian beliefs and morals. You can find a link to the voter guide on the Public Affairs website as well.

Let me also remind you that no Cooperative Program or mission board funds were used in providing these voter guides. In Georgia, there are multiple organizations that have many of the same concerns as Georgia Baptists about what is happening in our state and nation. The Faith and Freedom Coalition is one of those organizations and they are providing this unbiased educational guide at their own expense across the state.

Thank you for considering the use of these voter guides. Voting is one of our most sacred duties as citizens of this great nation!
