“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26
Our daughter Anna, is twelve years old. Anna was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. Anna was three months old when she had her lip repair surgery. After the surgery the doctor mentioned a couple of times how concerned he was over the tightness of Anna’s lip.
Five days later, her lip repair tore. Sheri, my wife, called me crying. She was feeding Anna and milk was coming through the torn place in her lip…my heart sank! I remember the drive home, tears rolling down my face, not knowing what to do, what words to say, not knowing how to pray.
Suddenly, these words kept rolling through my mind, over and over and over… “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26). There was a peace that came over the troubled waters of my soul words could never describe as the Comforter interceded on our behalf.
You may be going through times of difficulty and trials. The storm around you raging what a comfort to know the Holy Spirit is praying for you in the midst of it all.
