“Have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; have mercy on others but with fear.” Jude 1:22-23
Leonard was a gentleman my dad employed for about sixteen years. I really didn’t understand why dad kept Leonard around. He weighed about ninety pounds, couldn’t help dad do the manual labor really needed, and was an alcoholic without a lot to offer.
One day I asked dad why he kept Leonard around, tears filled dad’s eyes as he said, “I am worried about Leonard dying without Christ.” God began to fill my heart with a love for Leonard and from time to time we would talk about the Gospel.
Six months before Leonard passed away, from cirrhosis of the liver, he placed his faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Of all the lessons I have learned from dad I think the lesson of loving and caring where Leonard would spend eternity will always stay with me.
Is there someone you could care for, someone you could pray for, someone you could invest some time in so they would not die without Christ as their Savior.
