Pastor Royce Hulett was recognized at the Consolation Baptist Association's Fall Meeting on October 1. Pastor Royce was honored for 45 years as pastor of Oakland Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, Georgia.
Bro. Royce accepted the call to Oakland and became pastor on October 25, 1981. Under Bro. Royce's leadership, the church grew and continues to see people come to know Christ. His wife Carol has stood by his side, and they have ministered to the people of the church together all those years.
Also recognized was Mr. E.H. Claxton, Jr., for his faithful service at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, Georgia. Bro. E.H. has led the music at the church for 63 years.
He assisted the man who led the music before him, and when that man resigned, Bro. Claxton took over in October of 1963 at the age of 20.
Consolation Baptist Association is grateful to both of these men for their faithfulness in serving the Lord.
