William "Buck" Glover, pastor of Blue Springs Baptist Church in Pineview, died Thursday, July 18 after an extended illness. He was 84.
A native of Decatur County, Glover entered the ministry at 16 and served several churches as a bivocational pastor in middle and southwest Georgia. He had been at Blue Springs since 1992.
In the 1970s Glover earned Bachelor (Business and Administration) and Master's (Science and Administration) degrees from Georgia College. Prior to that he had served from 1955-57 in the U.S. Army. After retiring from Civil Service in 1995 as a computer programmer, he eventually established his own contracting firm. Later on he would rejoin the work force as a tax advisor for H&R Block and teach tax courses.
Glover is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ellen; a daughters Cecelia Brazell, of Kathleen, and Pam Glover, of Byron; sons Braxton Glover, of Warner Robins, Brian Glover, of Macon; sisters Betty Hildebrant, of Moultrie, and Carene Wheeler, or Irwinville; ten grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Craig Hartzog has received a call to Central Baptist Church of Warner Robins as associate pastor of Member Care. Previously, he served as senior pastor of the Northside Baptist Church of Brunswick for 15 years
Ken Cloud, associational mission strategist for the Bowen Association, will be retiring effective Aug. 29, 2019, and will be returning to full time evangelism. Cloud, the 2019 Associational Missions Strategist of the Year, served as an evangelist for 21 of his 57 years in ministry.
He served as senior pastor on two occasions at Midway Baptist Church in Cairo before accepting the position to direct Bowen Baptist Association in 2005. Additionally, he was the fourth vice-president of the Georgia Baptist Convention for 2008-2009 and preached the Missions Sermon at the annual Georgia Baptist Convention in 2014.
Grant Hignight, will become the associational missions strategist for Thomas County and Mercer Associations, effective August 6, 2019. He comes from a nearly 10 year pastorate at Central Parkway Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. Prior to his tenure at Central Parkway, he served churches in Texas, California, Wisconsin, and around Florida.
