Videos, other resources available to promote Mission Georgia state offering in September

DULUTH, Ga. – The Georgia Baptist Mission Board has created a series of videos for churches to use in promoting this year’s Mission Georgia offering, proceeds from which are used to share the gospel in some of the hardest to reach places in the state.

Beth Ann Williams, lead strategist for the Mission Board’s Georgia Baptist Women, said the promotional videos give a behind-the-scenes look at some of the initiatives Georgia Baptists are supporting through the Mission Georgia offering.

“These videos can be used in a variety of ways,” Williams said. “They can be used in Sunday morning services. They can be used in small group settings. They’re short. They’re concise. And they tell a great story.”

They’re especially pertinent in September, which has been set aside by the Georgia Baptist Convention as Mission Georgia Emphasis Month, a time for church leaders to educate their congregations about Mission Georgia and to receive special offerings to support the initiative.

The state Mission Board produces similar videos every year for church leaders to share with their congregations.

“The videos this year tell real stories of real people who are on the frontlines sharing the gospel through ministries aimed at foster care, human trafficking, refugees, literacy, and pre- and post-natal care,” Williams said. “They model what Georgia Baptists are doing, and they give motivation and inspiration for others to be involved in ministry.”

The videos are produced by Jon Graham, the Mission Board staffer who created ACTS2, a television streaming service especially for Christians looking for wholesome, family-friendly programming.

“I’m prouder of this series of six videos than any we’ve done before," said Graham, who produced them with the help of Matt King, a former North American Mission Board videographer, and Levi Woodard, a former videographer with the state Mission Board. "Mostly though, we have amazing stories being told. The work of each highlighted ministry is incredible.”

Graham recommended churches show one of the videos each Sunday in September.

"They also work well for missions group meetings, small groups, online prayer meetings, or really any physical or virtual gathering of church members," he said.

The Mission Board also has an assortment of other promotional materials available for Mission Georgia, including a poster and prayer guide that can be downloaded from the Mission Georgia website or requested by calling 770-936-5320. Mission Georgia offering envelopes also are available upon request.
