It is not about the size of the present; it is about the size of the heart that gave the present.
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
I remember Christmas as a child. I’d rush downstairs to get to the Christmas tree and look for the biggest packages to open because as a child the biggest packages were always the best, or at least we thought they were. We often overlooked the small packages thinking they were only socks, clothes, or a card. But as I got older I began to realize that some of the best gifts came in small packages.
Yet in life, we can still have a child like mentality. We think the biggest is the best. We think that the more money and the more things we have would make us a better person. But in actuality it doesn’t. Christ came in a small package; the package of a baby.
God showed us that the greatest gift He could give us didn’t have to be something big, but actually had to be something small that came with something big which was God’s love and desire for His people. God can give us a great gift in a small package. Let’s not overlook the small things that we may have that may be very big, very impacting and very important to others and ourselves.
