Georgia Baptist churches of every size are seeing people come to faith in Christ, and pastors say the growth is coming not from elaborate programs but from faithful preaching, persistent prayer, personal evangelism, and churches willing to celebrate every baptism as a work of God.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Congregations enter their places of worship every Sunday morning without having rehearsed a note. But they will soon lift their voices in singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to the glory of God. Nobody warmed up in the car. They will simply enter, find the melody already familiar, and sing.

As we move through the long, hot days of summer, I recently caught a glimpse of cooler days ahead. The sign was subtle and may not be noticeable to most, but it was staring me in the face at Kroger while I waited to pay for my groceries.
