DALTON, Ga. —The second round of Engage 6 evangelism gatherings brought together more than 400 pastors, ministry leaders, and laypeople from across Georgia for hands-on training in practical evangelism. The events are part of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board’s statewide emphasis on reaching the more than 7 million lost people in Georgia.

ROME, Ga. — Shorter University recently welcomed middle school students from across the state to campus as it hosted the Division B Regional competition for the 2025 to 2026 Georgia Science Olympiad.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary hosted a “Worship and the Church” micro conference on Jan. 30, welcoming more than 200 pastors, worship leaders, church musicians, and ministry teams for a day focused on strengthening worship in the life of the local church grounded in Scripture, ending with a concert by Christian artists Shane & Shane attended by 1,400.

SYLVANIA, Ga.  — Roslyn Clifton Matheson concluded 52 years as the organist of First Baptist Church in Sylvania on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026. Those who know her best would agree that she has always approached her ministry in the spirit of prayer, thought of herself as a servant, regarded the organ as her tool, and accepted her role in the church as one who helps the congregation experience true worship.

BAXLEY, Ga. — Despite bitterly cold temperatures outside, the atmosphere inside the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Baxley on Sunday, Feb. 1, was marked by gratitude and celebration as the church presented a $50,000 check to the International Mission Board for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Our Christmas decorations came down last night. It was February 1st. Since they went up in early October, it was probably time. I usually drag my Crocs when the day comes to un-decorate the parsonage - not my favorite thing at all.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (BP) – SBC Recording Secretary Nathan Finn says he will not be nominated for a fifth term at the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting in Orlando. Finn made the announcement on his blog on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Finn said the decision came through “considerable prayer” with his wife and a number of friends.
