ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — As remarkable as Damar Hamlin’s recovery has been, the Buffalo Bills safety still faces a lengthy rehabilitation some three weeks after going into cardiac arrest and needing to be resuscitated on the field during a game in Cincinnati, his marketing representative told The Associated Press on Thursday night. “Damar still requires oxygen and is having his heart monitored regularly to ensure there are no setbacks or after effects,” Jordon Rooney said. “Though he is able to visit the team’s facility, Damar is not in position to travel often, and requires additional rest to help his body heal.”

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — For Kyle Shanahan, the chance to coach the San Francisco 49ers against the Dallas Cowboys in a playoff game is a throwback to when that rivalry was the biggest in football. Shanahan's formative years were spent watching his father, Mike, as offensive coordinator in San Francisco battling the Cowboys in three straight NFC title games. After the rivalry went dormant for more than a quarter-century as the proud franchises rarely enjoyed success at the same time, it is having a rebirth with San Francisco set to take on Dallas for the second straight postseason when they meet Sunday in the divisional round.

DALLAS (AP) — Trae Young's latest matchup against Luka Doncic was his first with Dejounte Murray. Atlanta's backcourt mates kept their winning streak alive against the MVP candidate. Murray scored 30 points, Young had 18 points and 12 assists and the Hawks beat the Dallas Mavericks 130-122 on Wednesday night. John Collins added 19 points as Atlanta won a season-best fourth consecutive game to get back over .500 at 23-22.

ATLANTA (AP) — A four-game losing streak has left Georgia Tech one spot from the bottom of the ACC standings. Unfortunately for coach Josh Pastner, that's familiar territory. The Yellow Jackets finished 14th in the 15-team Atlantic Coast Conference last season. In Pastner's six seasons, Georgia Tech has finished 10th or lower four times.

ATLANTA (AP) — Josef Martinez, the 2018 MVP and centerpiece of Atlanta United's rise to prominence in Major League Soccer, was released by the club on Wednesday and quickly signed a deal with Inter Miami. The complex, corresponding moves were not unexpected, given Martinez's struggles last season under United coach Gonzalo Pineda. The striker was reportedly told months ago that he wasn't going to be part of Atlanta's future.
