Children's Home Offering gives you a direct way to help the most vulnerable

Posted

The heart of child is a precious thing; it must be cherished and handled delicately. The heart of a wounded child, all the more.

The Georgia Baptist Children’s Home cares for the hearts of hurting children on a daily basis. This year’s theme is Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart." The youth who come into care here will be introduced to the One who mends broken hearts, the One who is trustworthy, the One who does not disappoint, and the One who will never leave them.

Did you know that when you give to the Children’s Home Offering that your gift is supporting 11 types of programming? Besides traditional group homes, these ministries include specialized residential programs varying from restoration of girls ages 12-17 who’ve been liberated from sex trafficking, a farm-based treatment program for troubled adolescent boys, caring for and training teen mothers-to-be, and a life skills program for special needs teens helping them reach the goal of independent living. Additionally, they offer a foster care program including training not only for foster parents, but also for foster support systems like respite and mentoring.

While serving these beloved children hands-on may not be achievable for most of us, we do have an excellent opportunity to participate in the work of the Lord through the Children’s Homes and Family Ministries. We can come alongside them by first praying for these special ministry programs and secondly, by giving to the Children’s Home Offering on Mother’s Day, May 12.

Because of your faithfulness to pray, give, and serve in 2018, 46 lives were forever changed when these decided to “Trust the Lord” and follow Jesus! Let’s continue to reach Georgia by leading the children to Jesus.
