STATESBORO, Ga. — Energetic volunteers gathered at Southbridge Community Church on Saturday, Nov. 10, before spreading throughout Statesboro to help homeowners still cleaning up after Hurricane Helene. The effort, coordinated by the Ogeechee River Baptist Association and Southbridge Church, was dubbed “Love Statesboro.”

STATESBORO, Ga. — Kevin Ezell, president of the North American Mission Board, told Georgia Baptists that because we have a limited amount of time on this earth, “We must talk about mission with a sense of urgency,” he said, “because you don’t know how long you have.”

Bridge to nations grows in Korea

Korean pastors and church leaders greeted each other warmly, some clearly friends and others meeting for the first time. Representing different churches, they joined in the city of Asan, Korea, for one purpose. More than 40 Korean Baptist leaders met in October for a missions consultation based on the book Eight Steps of the Missions Continuum.

(KT) – Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief Director Ron Crow said it was not a surprise to him that the request for 100 generators to aid those in North Carolina was answered so quickly. “I often thought why are we surprised when God does something like this?” he asked. “I do stand in awe.”

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — More than 300 volunteers from 11 states and 28 churches met for Serve Tour Brownsville on Oct. 11 and 12. Partnering with Texas Baptists, River Ministry, and Texans on Mission, these volunteers undertook 33 projects, aiding 7 schools and 15 churches.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The newly launched Midwestern Institute for Preaching and Preachers advances Midwestern Seminary’s mission to train leaders for the Church by equipping and encouraging preachers of God’s Word.

Six ladies from the Russellville, Ark., area recently donned yellow shirts, chaps, and other safety equipment, picked up chainsaws, and went to work in Valdosta, Ga. “There’s nothing like it in the country,” Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief Director Randy Garrett said, describing ABDR’s first all-women chainsaw unit.

DULUTH, Ga. (BP) — Changed lives and calls for unity permeated crusades hosted by evangelist Rick Gage in North Carolina and Virginia.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Midwestern Seminary welcomed R. Albert Mohler Jr. to campus on October 29–30 to deliver the annual Spurgeon Lectures on Biblical Preaching. Mohler, who serves as president of Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, preached from two Old Testament passages, drawing out their applications for expositional preaching.
